THE BUILDER’S COMMERCIAL WORKBENCH

Your first checked quote.

Have your PDF plans, a known drawing dimension, rates and trade offers ready.

1 · Set up and confirm scale

Create a project with its site location and time zone. Upload your PDF plans through Plans & scale. Check sheet names and revisions. Confirm a known dimension, then verify a second dimension. Avoid views at another scale.

2 · Add rates and measure

Add rates or preview a supported import in the price book. Review row problems before applying. Return to Measure & Price, create a known measurement and apply a compatible recipe. Check quantity, rate, waste and result. Manual lines work without installing starter prices.

3 · Include trade prices

Create a trade package, compare two offers and explicitly select one. Inspect the resulting locked subcontract line and remove duplicate scope elsewhere.

4 · Review scope and margin

Review estimated cost, selling price, allowances and margin. Complete checklist decisions and investigate outstanding or expired trade prices. Add client-facing exclusions in Quote details yourself; checklist notes are not copied automatically.

5 · Approve and inspect the PDF

A permitted person approves the reviewed version. Complete client wording and preview the intended version. Changed details may require approval again. Check totals and non-English characters. Internal Excel contains costs and markup; client PDF does not.

6 · Issue and deliver

Previewing takes no quote number. After checking the intended approved version, create and download the client PDF. Review its contents and recipient before sending through your usual email process; integrated email delivery is not available.
